I was quite surprised to find that my local CVS sells kinky sex toys. Well, OK, handcuffs. No, not silly plastic ones. They looked and felt like real metal, had a key and a serious warning that said they were not toys. In the toy section, $5.
As a child, I had some plastic cuffs, but they were no good and opened if you pulled them hard enough.
I remember that a friend of mine had a plastic suit of armour. I just loved the feel and the smell of that plastic.
Explains a lot about me, I suppose.
