There’s a reason why the trick is ’sawing the lady in half’. Just what appeal would a female magician sawing a 20 stone unshaven bloke in half have? I’ve seen it done. None is the answer. The victim has to be helpless, vulnerable and oozing sex appeal.
All those tricks involving penetration – swords through the woman’s neck, light tubes through her body, whatever – it’s just sex, at least in part, isn’t it? All that thrusting and penetration.
And even the female magicians have to wear sexy clothing. Do a search on YouTube for magic illusions and see just how the assisitants wear sexy boots, short skirts, catsuits and so on. Now, can you imagine Penn and Teller in spandex catsuits?
